Advocacy Alert - Plan to Remove Four Required School-Entry Vaccines
Aug. 25, 2026
The Florida Department of Health started a rulemaking process to remove four required school-entry vaccines in September 2025 and held a workshop to hear from the public last December. Yesterday, FL-DOH continued the process by publishing the proposed rule change.
Under the proposal, Florida children would no longer have to get shots for chickenpox, Hepatitis B, Haemophilus influenzae type b, or Hib, and pneumococcal disease.
